Who We Are
Laura graduated from the University of Salford in 2009, following 3 years of study she obtained a BSc Hons in Sports Rehabilitation. Since graduating, Laura has gained a wide range of experience from working with high level athletes, on a local and national level. This involved assessing and treating their injuries and recovery, from performing first aid and handling pitch-side trauma, to treating long-term injuries that inhibit performance. In addition to working with sports people, Laura also has extensive experience working with people suffering from a range of injuries and illness, helping to treat and manage their pain during their day-to-day activities.
Laura has worked in a clinic environment since qualifying as a sports rehabilitator and has been based at Alive & Well gym in Warrington since 2012. She spent 6 years working in Rugby Union with Caldy, a National 1 club, in addition to working with Lancashire under 18’s development programme and the Cheshire senior squad for the county championships. She has volunteered with several national sports teams and with the GB Handball team, working with all age groups as well as travelling internationally with the team to assist during their training camps and European tournaments.
Using her in-depth knowledge and considerable experience, Laura has been able to specialise in sports injuries of all kinds, from the moment the injury occurs, all the way through the rehabilitation process, until the individual is back to full fitness and returning to the sport. In conjunction with the sports side of her job, Laura also treats back and neck pain, sciatica, trapped nerves, repetitive strains, postural issues and general aches and pains that derive from day to day activities.
